HISTORIC S&W BUILDING

56 Patton Ave.
Condominium info: “One of art deco’s crown jewels in Asheville and one of Douglas Ellington’s finest buildings that he designed in town,” says Jim Comas, president of the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County.
The S&W was completed in 1929 and was a community hub for much of the middle of the 20th century. Now, thanks to developer Steve Molberg, the building has been beautifully renovated as a mixed use project. The street level houses the upscale restaurant S&W Steak & Wine and the Corner House, a coffee shop and casual restaurant. The third floor has 6 residential condos and Steve added a level and a half on the roof for four more.
Though quickly sold out, one or two do occasionally become available. Condos range in size from 993 square foot studios to 1,588 square foot penthouse units. There are a variety of bedroom and bathroom configurations: 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom units.

PIONEER BUILDING
